Peppercorn exports exceed US$1 bln

VGP – As many as 3,556 tons of peppercorns were exported in the first fifteen days of September, worth US$34.081 million, according to the Viet Nam Customs.

As of September 15, Viet Nam exported 136,000 tons of peppercorns, gaining US$1.022 billion.



It is the first time the peppercorn export value exceeded US$1 billion. In 2013, it brought home US$888.985 million from 132,637 tons.


Currently, Viet Nam’s peppercorn accounted for 30% of the world’s consumption and 50% of the total export turnover in the world.


The US, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands and India are the largest peppercorn importers of Viet Nam.
