On September 24, in Hanoi, famous Belgian writer, Nicolas Ancion met Vietnamese readers to introduce his book Quatrieme Etage (Fourth Floor), which had recently been translated and published by the Nha Nam Publishing House.


As part of his Vietnam tour from September 24 to October 2, Ancion will also write a novel in public, in 24 hours: 12 hours in Hanoi and 12 hours in Ho Chi Minh city.


He previously performed this literary challenge at the Brussels Book Fair in 2010 and in New York in 2013. During the 2010 Brussels Book Fair, Ancion publicly wrote a novel in 24 hours. He regularly uses the internet to share his writing live.


On September 26, he will conduct a workshop on short story writing at the National Library of Vietnam, where he will share his experience with university students.


Born in Liege in 1971 to professional puppeteer parents, Ancion studied Romance Philology at the University of Liege, before beginning his career as a playwright and short story writer. He was awarded the International Prize for Young Authors in 1989 and 1991. His first novel, Ciel Bleu trop Bleu (Blue Sky Too Blue), was released by Switzerland’s Hebe Publishing House in 1995./.
