Three Vietnamese, who were on the same flight to Vietnam from Ebola-hit Liberia, have been hospitalized and isolated after one of them showed suspected symptoms of the deadly Ebola virus, according to health officials in Vietnam.
The three passengers live in a same house and work in the printing industry in Monrovia, Liberia. Two of them hail from Quang Nam province while the other one comes from Quang Ngai province, both in the central region, according to Vietnam News Agency.
They left Liberia for Vietnam on September 8 and entered Tan Son Nhat airport based in Ho Chi Minh City on September 10 where one of them was found to have a fever – a sign that could be Ebola.
As of 00:15 am on Wednesday, the trio were admitted to the Tropical Hospital in HCMC where they are being monitored for signs of Ebola virus in line with regulations of the Health Ministry.
All of them are in stable health conditions while the Ebola-suspected person has recovered from fever, doctors at the hospital said.
They are expected to leave the hospital after 24 hours in isolation if local health officials conclude they have no symptoms of Ebola.
