At a meeting with Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien on August 20, Viet Nam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA)’s President Nguyen Van Rinh proposed the Ministry of Health to continue helping Agent Orange victims.
Rinh asked the Ministry to act as advisor to the Government in extricating policies for Agent Orange Victims including medical records in order to facilitate treatment procedure and patients.
More diseases due to dioxin should be included in health insurance to benefit Agent Orange victims, said Rinh.
Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien highly applauded activities of VAVA in recent years to help Agent Orange victims to overcome their difficulties to integrate into the community and struggles to demand for Agent Orange victims’ justice.
Ms. Tien said that the Ministry will closely coordinate with related agencies to issue more preferential policies for AO victims.
