Nhan Dan – Artists from northwest and northeast are showcasing their best works at an exhibition which opened on August 26 in Bac Kan province.


The exhibition, held by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association (VFAA), gathers over 230 artists from Bac Kan, Lang Son, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Dien Bien and Lai Chau provinces.


Together they brought to the event more than 250 works which depict the socio-economic situation in their areas and the lives and customs of ethnic groups living there.


At the opening ceremony, the arts’ council presented the ‘A prize’ for ‘Toi’ (Me) by Tran Thi Thu from Hoa Binh province and for ‘Mua Sinh San‘ (Breeding Season) and ‘Em Be Dan Toc’ (An Ethnic Minority Child), two works by Thai Nhat Minh from Vinh Phuc. Luong Anh Hien from Tuyen Quang won ‘B’ and ‘C prizes’.


Four consolation prizes were also presented to other artists.


The exhibition will run until September 6 at Bac Kan provincial Cultural House.
