National Junior Diving Tour 2014 ends Related image(s)







(CPV) – The National Junior Diving Tour 2014 – based in the My Dinh Sports Complex on July 20, has ended, seeing 22 new national records and junior national records.

The event lured the participation of 150 athletes from 19 delegations including Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Cao Bang, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Tay Ninh, Long An, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh city, and V Military Sports and Physical Training Center.


They competed in speed-diving, nitrox enriched air diving, double propellers scuba diving, snorkeling, and diving duck legs relay, in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 4x100m, and 4x200m events.

e professional skills of trainers, as well as to seek the best candidates for up-coming, national, regional and international, junior squad competitions.


The finals medal tally put, Ho Chi Minh City on top with 31 medals and Da Nang and Hanoi placed runner-ups.


The Quang Ninh delegation sent 10 athletes to the event, pocketing 9 medals including 3 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes, reported coach Mr Nguyen Duy Long.


As scheduled, the National Junior Swimming Tour 2014 is also being held from July 21-25 in Hanoi with 181 athletes from 21 delegations taking part. Swimmers will compete in 20 medal categories (including 3 categories for relay events). This tour sets a solid foundation for the development of the nation’s swimming team and discovering young talents like Quy Phuoc, Duy Khoi, Anh Vien, and My Thao…/.
