The road to be named after General Vo Nguyen Giap

A 12-km road running from the Noi Bai International Airport to Nhat Tan bridge in Hanoi will be named after General Vo Nguyen Giap.


This decision is among several contents contained in a resolution approved by the capital city’s People’s Council, on July 9.


The resolution deals with naming or renaming 24 roads and streets in nine districts, and extending two others.


Of the 24 roads and streets, 19 will be named by place, one by a cultural historical reference and four after famous people.


Some other cities and provinces have already approved the renaming of local roads after General Vo Nguyen Giap.


Another 12-km road, running from Noi Bai International Airport to the Thang Long bridge, will be named after late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet. Meanwhile, Vo Chi Cong road in Tay Ho district will start from Nhat Tan bridge, pass by the west side of the West lake to the crossroads between Hoang Quoc Viet road and the To Lich river. It will be 4.5 kilometres long./.
