Central Highlands photos by French photographer exhibited in Hanoi Related image(s)
As many of 34 photos about ethnic minority groups and custom in the Central Highlands taken by French photographer Jean – Marie Duchange in the 1950s are on display at an exhibition in Hanoi. The exhibition opened at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi on July 10. The photos were taken during his visits to the Central Highland region from June 1952 to July 1955 and were selected from over 200 photos that his daughter Évelyne Duchange and granddaughter Nadège Bourgoin presented to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. The camera that Jean Marie Duchange used to take the photos of Central Highlanders and landscapes were also an display. The exhibition help visitors know more about daily lives of ethnic minority people in the Central Highland region, as well as their architectural art, traditional customs and religious rituals. The exhibition will run until January 10 next year, and will be introduced in the Central Highlands after that./. |
