The incident occurred at about 5:00 pm when people heard loud noises coming from the left side of the main entrance of the trade center, which is located in Ward 9 of District 5, according to some witnesses.

When the ceiling collapsed, there was nobody on the floor directly beneath it, so no casualties were reported.

However, the incident sent shoppers in a panic, many of whom rushed out of the center.

As witnessed by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper’s reporters on the scene, three jewelry shops were situated under the collapsed ceiling, but luckily, at the time of the incident, there were few shoppers in the area.

The center sent its staff to the scene to clean the debris and restore order.
