Fire destroys 8ha of forest in Quang Ngai

QUANG NGAI (VNS) — Firefighters managed to put out a blaze that destroyed eight hectares of forest in the northern province of Quang Ngai yesterday.

The fire broke out in forests located in Tinh Son Commune, Son Tinh District.

Four firetrucks and 30 firefighters were dispatched to the area to control the fire, which was spreading rapidly due to the hot weather and dry conditions.

While relevant agencies are investigating the cause of the fire, forestry officials in Quang Ngai have warned that many areas in the district face the threat of forest fires.

The officials have asked local authorities to be on full alert at this time of the year. — VNS
