The Vietnamese Embassy in France marked the 124th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19th, 1890 to May 19th, 2014).



The ceremony began with an incense-offering ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at his altar in the premises of the embassy.


After the incense-offering ceremony, Ambassador Duong Chi Dung and all attendees visited and laid flowers in front of house No. 9,


Compoint Lane

of District 17, Paris. This is the location where Uncle Ho lived and worked in France during the time he searched for a way to save the country in the early 20th century.


The delegation also visited and laid flowers in front of President Ho Chi Minh’s statue at the Museum of Living History in MontreauPark, Montreuil city, a suburb of Paris.


On this occasion, the Mayor of Montreuil Patrice Bessac expressed the honour and pride of the people of the city regarding the safeguard and maintenance of memorabilia and historical documents relating to President Ho Chi Minh and his revolutionary activities in France.


He also hoped that the friendly sentiments of French people in general and people in Montreuil city in particular for Vietnam would be passed on to the younger generation through the exhibits and documentary images displayed at the Ho Chi Minh’s area of the Museum of Living History.


On this occasion, Mr. Jean-Pierre Brard, former Mayor of Montreuil city, also expressed his sentiments for Vietnam. He affirmed “For Vietnam, it is unshakable faithfulness. Vietnam is a symbol for a nation bravely fighting for their independence.


President Ho Chi Minh is a blend of patriotism and revolutionary spirit, striving for all life for the people to change the existing order, so that everyone has the right to hope for a bright future in the struggle of the entire human kind, for the freedom of nations and for human rights.”


On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung also expressed his gratitude for the help of Montreuil city in the past and at the present in maintaining documents about President Ho Chi Minh.


The Ambassador said that he also hoped the friendly sentiments and cooperation between Montreuil city and Vietnam would be tightened in the future, becoming a symbol for the friendship between Vietnam and France./.
