Vietnam’s retail gasoline prices have reached a record high after fuel distributors raised retail petrol prices by up to around 1 percent on Tuesday with the approval from the Ministry of Finance.
State-owned Petrolimex, Vietnam’s leading fuel importer and distributor, increased the price of 92-octane (92 RON) gasoline by 0.85 percent to VND24,900 (US$1.18) per liter at Tuesday noon.
It is the highest-ever price of 92 RON.
The price of 95 RON gasoline also increased by 0.83 percent to VND25,400 ($1.2) per liter.
Diesel with 0.05 percent sulphur content was up 0.75 percent to VND22,680 ($1.07) per liter, the firm said in a statement.
The price of kerosene increased by 0.58 percent to VND22,480 ($1.06) per liter.
The Ministry of Finance, which approved the hikes, said the prices of world oil products are increasing.
The last time Vietnam increased gasoline prices was on March 19.
