(Cinet)- In the framework of “Italy- Vietnam 2014″, exhibition “Transcendence” with the participation of Italian sculptor Giuseppe Strano Spitù and two Vietnamese artists, Bang Sy Truc and Vu Pham Truong Minh officially opened on April 18.
The common features of the three artists’ techniques, beyond the differences in the educational and cultural backgrounds and creative styles, lay in the search of a path toward a free artistic expression, a transcendence beyond “the chaos of psychological conflicts in modern life”.
Italian sculptor Giuseppe Strano Spitù – who already exhibited in Italy and abroad – shares his thoughts: “My idea is that spirituality and energy should be looked for and must flow into tangible reality, not in asceticism. Spirituality and materiality are intrinsically linked. Special lighting effects on the works displayed will give the feeling of ethereal and material appearance at the same time”.
Artist Bang Sy Truc’s art comes from the soul, with an intimate relationship with our everyday life. Each image is imbued with sublimate thoughts leading to a deep aesthetic sensitiveness. Each artwork is a journey from life to art and back to life with new values and personal achievements.
Artist Vu Pham Truong Minh, the youngest artist, chooses pop-art style to express simultaneously all the images from his journey, going beyond the ordinary chronological order and drawing from his readings, his visual experiences, and from the notion of religion and power. He pursued “Head series” from 2012, on the occasion of an exhibition in Thailand, with the objective to engage with others in the most direct and fastest way. “It’s my own world or your world, I do not know!” – a freehearted statement but also a question marks suspended somewhere inside each of us.
The exhibition will run until 2nd May, 2014.
