Over one million people visit Tay Ninh during Tet

Nhan Dan – The Tay Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that over one million travelers have arrived in the province during the first 20 days of the Lunar New Year, up five percent year on year.

The Ba Den (Black Lady) mountain tourism, cultural and historical relic site and the Cao Dai Tay Ninh Church are two destinations that attracted the most visitors from January 27 to February 16 (the 27th of the 12th lunar month to the 17th of the first lunar month).

People visit the Ba Den mountain tourism site during the first lunar month each year to pray for peace and safety for their family members.

The site is considered one of the most famous spiritual lands in the southern region, with festivals held in the first and the fifth lunar months every year.

Until now, tourism services have contributed more than VND20 billion (US$940,000) to the provincial budget, representing a year-on-year rise of 5 percent.
