The Amigos are set to tour Vietnam from April 11-14.
Nhan Dan Online – The Amigos, a highly acclaimed American band, are set to tour Vietnam from April 11-14.
They will give a free concert at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi on April 11. The performance is jointly held by the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the US Embassy in Hanoi under the embassy’s cultural exchange programme.
From April 12-14, The Amigos will perform a free public concert and participate in outreach events for disadvantaged people that have been organised during the Hue Festival. These events are part of a cultural programme sponsored by the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Amigos are a band dedicated to creating and performing American music through the traditions of collaboration and improvisation. In 2012 and 2013, the Amigos performed more than 40 concerts in New York City schools, hospitals, and community centers as part of the world-famous Lincoln Center’s outreach programming. They are currently recording an album in collaboration with iconic New York composer and musician David Amram, which is set for release in spring of 2014.
Before coming to Vietnam, the band’s current tour has taken them to Cambodia, China, Laos and Myanmar.
