Said a source of the Quang Ngai provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, in the first quarter of the year 2014, Quang Ngai province has received 12 programs and projects on different fields worth over VND 48.5 billion funded by international non-governmental organizations (NGO), including Plan International, World Vision Vietnam, Children Action, Giving it Back to Kids, ReSurge International, Passerelles Numeriques, MQI and other units of KOICA, Doosan Vina.
The main objectives of these projects are to focus mainly on improving the life quality of poor households, building schools and upgrading hospitals as well as coping with climate change and disaster risk, supporting scholarships to poor students.
Specially, ReSurge International in combination with Quang Ngai general hospital implemented its 13-day free treatment and surgery for 61 poor children with cleft lips, cleft palates, burn scars, ptosis as well as some hand problems, Doosan Vina donated more than 600,000 multivitamins, Giving it Back to Kids funded 550 wheelchairs for the disabled in the province.
To record achievements in charitable movement and humanitarian contribution of NGOs, Chairman of the PPC awarded certificates of merit to ReSurge International and American Red Cross Office in Vietnam.
