The concert celebrated the 43rd anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Norway. The royal guests of honor are in Vietnam on official visit, along with a delegation led by Minister of Trade and Industry Monica Mæland. The event was also attended by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

The 15-year-old soloists Do Phuong Nhi from Hanoi and Ludvig Gudim from Ås outside Oslo have performed together several times before. Bach’s Concerto for two violins opened the concert to showcase their talent. The concert was played in front of an ensemble with musicians from the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo and the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi.

In an interview with Norwegian national newspaper VG, orchestra leader and head of the Barratt Due Institute, Stephan Barratt-Due, says that Nhi and Ludvig were matched several years ago. This autumn, Nhi is going to Norway to study music and become part of the “Young Talents” programme at the Barratt Due Institute of Music.
