HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam’s national football team has jumped 18 places from No 143 to No 125 in the rankings for March, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced.


Viet Nam moved up because the team defeated China’s Hong Kong 3-1 in the Asian Cup 2015′s qualifying round in early March.


With this jump, Viet Nam is the No 1 team in the Southeast Asian region, followed by the Philippines which is No 130 in the world, and Malaysia which is No 141.


Spainstill leads the world. In second and third place are Germany and Argentina. — VNS
