Nhan Dan – Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan worked with Quang Ninh provincial leaders to review the locality’s progress with the emulation movement and its socio-economic development tasks.
Regarding the socio-economic situation, the locality prioritises the development of high technology, clean technology and support industries and services, local leaders briefed the State official.
In 2013, Quang Ninh reached nearly VND 35,000 billion (US$1.6 billion) in budget revenue, an increase of 14% over the previous year; US$3,000 in income per capita, and saw a 7.5% increase in GDP growth.
Speaking at the working session, Vice President Doan praised Quang Ninh provincial authorities for boosting socio-economic development and for mobilising the whole community in building rural areas.
She also appreciated the province’s determination in streamlining its administrative procedures and in raising the qualification of officers.
Whilst in the area, Vice President Doan presented 120 scholarships worth VND3 million each to poor children in the province and visited policy beneficiaries in Don Dac commune, Ba Che district.
