This festival is annually celebrated on the 12th of the second lunar month at Lady Thu Bon’s Temple in Duy Tan Commune, Duy Xuyen District. It is a traditional festival of the ancient Cham people that has still been alive up to now.
March 10, 2014 - The chain of activities in Lady Thu Bon Festival started on the 10th of the second lunar month in the districts of Duy Xuyen and Nong Son.
On this occasion, the art troupe of Nguyen Hien Dinh Traditional Drama (Tuong) Theatre performed in Nong Son District from March 9 to 12 when the festival ends.
In the morning of March 10, seven racing boats of Nong Son, Duy Xuyen, Dai Loc, Thang Binh gathered at the river bank of Trung Phuoc Village for the annual traditional boat race.
The festival officially started in the afternoon of March 10 at Her Temple in Trung An Village of Nong Son District, while sport games and art performances was taking place in Duy Tan Commune of Duy Xuyen District.
Remarkably, the official worship ceremony of Lady Thu Bon Festival took place in both districts of Nong Son and Duy Xuyen on March 12, 2014.
