Nhan Dan Online – Chairman Park Sam Koo of the Kumho Asiana Corporation, based in the Republic of Korea, has been awarded the Government Certificate of Merit for his contributions to social activities in Vietnam.
Speaking on March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised Chairman Park for his efforts and contributions in the fields of trade, culture and education, which have contributed to fostering fine relations between Vietnam and the RoK.
The Vietnamese Government works to create favourable conditions for foreign companies to do business or invest in Vietnam, the deputy PM stated, adding that Vietnam would continue to improve its investment and trade environment.
Chairman Park Sam Koo thanked the Government for the award, describing it as a great encouragement to him and to his company.
Kumho Asiana began operations in Vietnam in 1992 with the opening of the Asiana Airlines flight route to Ho Chi Minh City. Since then, various other subsidiaries under the RoK conglomeration have invested in Vietnam, including Kumho Construction, Kumho Buslines, Kumho Tire, and Daehan Transport. The corporation is committed to providing endowments to support Vietnamese art and culture as well as fostering cultural exchange projects.
