The Shooting Championship in the program of the 7th Hai Duong provincial Gymnastics and Sports Games kicked off on the morning of March 20 at the Hai Duong provincial Shooting Club.
The tournament lured over 60 male and female shooters from 10 districts, provincial town, and city (no attendees from the districts of Tu Ky and Cam Giang).
The shooters, divided into two groups (16 years old and younger and 17 years old and older), competed for eight sets of medal in team and individual events.
The competitors shot with common air rifles, 10 m distance. Male shooters fired 30 bullets, female ones 20 bullets, in each exam.
The male shooters aged 16 and younger completed their competition program on the morning of the opening day. Shooter Nguyen Thuy Duc (Thanh Ha) snatched the gold medal, Doan Cong Vo (Hai Duong city) silver medal, and Tran Quang Duc (Thanh Ha) bronze medal in the individual event.
On the basis of the shooters’ competition achievements, Thanh Ha district won the gold medal, Hai Duong city silver medal, and Chi Linh provincial town bronze medal in the team event.
The tournament was due to end on the morning of March 21.
* Three provincial sectors of public security, procuracy, and court on March 20 held the first open football tournament with the participation of four teams, namely the provincial People’s Procuracy, the provincial People’s Court, the Police Division for Investigation of Crime on Social Order (provincial Public Security), and Hai Duong branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).
The teams cast lots to be divided into two pairs for knockout matches. Each team had seven members; however, five-a-side football rules were applied with general mistakes ignored and substitution unlimited.
At the end of the tournament, the provincial People’s Procuracy team grabbed the first prize, the second and third prizes went to the Police Division for Investigation of Crime on Social Order (provincial Public Security) and BIDV Hai Duong, respectively.
* Chi Linh provincial town on the morning of March 20 opened the 2014 Youth Football Tournament.
Participating in the tournament are nine teams from the wards of Sao Do, Cong Hoa, Hoang Tan, Chi Minh, Pha Lai, and Van Duc, the communes of Hoang Tien and An Lac, and Sao Do University.
The teams are divided into three groups for round-robin playing to select two teams with the highest scores for the next round.
The tourney will close on March 24.
