Nhan Dan Online – More than 160 cinematic works have been nominated for the 2014 Golden Kite Awards, the annual Vietnamese film awards organised by the Vietnam Cinematography Association.
Nominees were organised into seven categories including feature films, cartoons, documentaries, short films, scientific films, TV series, and research projects on cinematic theory and criticism.
The nominated feature films will be shown to the public for free at the August cinema, the Ngoc Khanh cinema and the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi.
One ‘Golden Kite’ and two ‘Silver Kite’ prizes will be presented in each category at an awards ceremony scheduled for March 15 in Hanoi.
Individual prizes honouring Best Scriptwriter, Best Director, Best Cameraman, Best Musician, Best Actor and Actress, and Best Supporting Actor and Actress will also be given at the ceremony.
The national Golden Kite Awards have been held in March annually since 2003 to honour the best cinematographic works and artists of the year.
