He made the statement at a meeting to implement projects building flood-proof resident compounds in Dong Thap Province on March 21.

Eight projects in Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Can Tho City are running behind schedule.

A total of 35,515 out of 55,463 households have been relocated from dangerous areas in the Mekong Delta. Nearly 19,000 of these relocated households are living in residential compounds.

More than 15,000 households are in need of resettlement in An Giang, Dong Thap, Hau Giang and Kien Giang provinces.

Mr. Nam ordered local authorities to be more proactive in completing the program’s second phase as scheduled.

The work quality must be insured, said Mr. Nam.
