Nhan Dan Online – Can Cau rural ethnic market in Si Ma Cai district found in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai is not too touristy like that in Sapa nor as boisterous as Bac Ha market, offering visitors a wonderful place to shop.

The market is situated along road 153; the pathway connecting Bac Ha town with the Si Ma Cai border town. Stalls are hosted mostly by people from the Mong and Giay ethnic minority groups living in Can Cau commune, Si Ma Cai district.

Local goods like vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs, spices, household appliances and brocade are sold at the market, which stretches along the roadside, meeting the valley’s mountain slope.
