(Cinet) – The PM Nguyen Tan Dung signed Decision No.284/QĐ-TTg on February 24 about observing April 21 as Vietnam’s Book Day, to honour the values books can bring to humanity and to encourage Vietnam’s reading culture.
Accordingly, Vietnam’s Book Day aims to honour the reading culture of Vietnamese people and encourage ministries, departments, agencies, and social organizations to develop Vietnam’s reading culture.
About organizing Vietnam’s Book Day, the PM Nguyen Tan Dung entrusted the Ministry of Information and Communications and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as some relevant agencies to build Plan to organize Vietnam’s Book Day in order to ensure a saving plan. Additionally, UNESCO has decided to observe April 23 as the World Book and Copyright Day. Vietnam’s Book Day aims to link to the April 23 World Book and Copyright Day.
