Speaking at an election campaign in Mersin in the south of Turkey, Erdogan criticized the opposition’s ugly attempts to manipulate the upcoming elections by provoking and terrorizing the streets. Erdogan said demonstrators had destroyed the offices of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Istanbul during mass protests a day earlier, accusing them of attempting to demolish Turkey’s democracy.
