Nhan Dan Online -VietJet Air, Vietnam’s low cost airline, announced yesterday the addition of a new route linking Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat, Lam Dong Province with service beginning March 22.
VietJet Air will operate seven flights with a capacity of 2,520 passengers per week. The 40-minute flights are scheduled to depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 11:00am, and from Da Lat at 9:45am.
To mark the occasion, the airline plans to issue 30,000 discount tickets across all its routes at a price of VND 22,000 (US$1) from March 5 to March 7.
The promotional fares apply to flights departing from March 22 to May 20, excluding national holidays.
Currently, VietJet Air operates 22 routes connecting domestic provinces and cities. The budget airline also links Vietnam to select international destinations, such as Bangkok, Thailand; Siem Reap, Cambodia; and Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The airline carried more than 4.3 million passengers last year, accounting for about 26 percent of aggregate domestic market share.
