Viet Nam accummulates sugar stockpile

According to the Viet Nam Sugar and Sugar Cane Association (VSSA), Viet Nam currently has 400,000 tonnes of sugar on the inventory and the volume is expected to increase in the coming months due to the sugar-cane harvest.


The association blamed illegal, imported sugar from Thailand via Cambodia’s Southwest border, which currently accounts for 70-80 per cent of market share in the Mekong Delta.

The HCM City People‘s Committee has assigned the appropriate authorities to manage the private and organizational trade of chemicals and all types of chemical products on the market.


Accordingly, a chemical market management team will be established with the appropriate equipment to manage the trading of chemical in the city, especially at Kim Bien market.

HCM City receives early-2014 boost in FDI


The HCM City Department of Planning and Investment said foreign direct investment (FDI) into the city has increased in the first months of this year.


There are 39 new investment projects in the city from January 1 to February 17 with total a capital of US$150.6 million, up 340 per cent year-on-year.
