Solutions to minimize impact of climate change to Mui Ca Mau National Park

The research program for pilot study on zoning mangrove forest in Mui Ca Mau National Park implemented by the Conservation Biodiversity Agency, Vietnam Environment Administration is considered necessary basis to apply in large scale for similar ecological zones. The success of this model is also expected to be a solution to mitigate the impact of climate change to Mui Ca Mau National Park.

The model is based on natural tree regeneration and to accelerate the forest formation so as to save the cost of planting coastal mangrove forest. The Conservation Biodiversity Agency has chosen the alluvial zone of Mui Ca Mau National Park to build the model of forest regeneration in IB.1 Dat Mui Commune, Ngoc Hien district. The testing model has brought positive results helping the increase of number, density of mangrove seedlings. At the same time, it helps increase the sedimentation and the ability to form the forest. Besides, the formation of the forests from the model will protect the forest and environment, erosion control, landscaping and climate regulation.
