Nhan Dan Online – The border guard force has helped significantly in protecting the nation’s sovereignty as well as in the fight against drug trafficking and human trafficking.
Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, also Head of the Northwest Steering Committee (NSC), made the statement while chairing a conference, in the central province of Thanh Hoa on February 24, to honour outstanding officers and soldiers from border guard stations in the north west region.
The Deputy PM spoke highly of the efforts made by the force’s officers and soldiers in contributing to local socio-economic development; search and rescue work; and in natural disaster relief.
He stressed the need to build a strong force, in which officers and soldiers stand sure of their political stance, are ready to meet tasks to the best of their ability, and are deserving of the trust of the Party, State and people.
NSC certificates of merit were presented by the Deputy PM to 25 collectives and 25 individuals for outstanding achievement.
