(Cinet)- On the morning of February 14, Vietnam poetry day themed “Nation’s Spring – From Dien Bien to Truong Sa” officially opened.



The event is expected to attract a large gathering of poetry lovers, including more than 80 poets who are members of the Vietnam Writers’ Association from seven provinces and cities and six universities across the country, as well as 28 poetry clubs from Hanoi.


After a speech of an author Huu Thinh, a chairman of Vietnam Writers’ Association (VWA), ssome poet such as Anh Ngoc, Nguyen Trong Tao, Tran Quang Quy, Le Manh Tuan, Vuong Trong, Truong Quang Duoc, Chu Thi Thom read some new works as well as some performing programs themed ” Nation’s Spring – From Dien Bien to Truong Sa”.


Also, some exchange programs among a writer Ho Phuong, Chu Phac, Le Kim and musician Hoang Van enhance to connect some feelings eachother. The highlight of the event will be a poetry exhibition featuring poems and portraits of poets active during the American War.


A series of activities has also been organized in 51 provinces and cities across the country in response to Vietnamese Poetry Day 2014.


The event aims to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the glorious Dien Bien Phu victory (1954-2014) and affirm national sovereignty.
