Singaporean investment to VN surges sharply

VGP – Singapore poured US$ 4.37 billion of FDI to Viet Nam in 2013, presenting year-on-year increase of 153%.


Singaporean investors got 105 newly licensed projects in Viet Nam worth over US$ 3 billion. Meanwhile, around US$ 1.4 billion was added to 34 ongoing projects.


Especially, the Samsung Electronics Viet Nam project in Thai Nguyen received US$ 2 billion and the Samsung Electronics Việt Nam plant in Bac Ninh got US$ 1 billion.


As of late 2013, Singapore had 1,219 projects in Viet Nam with total registered capital of over US$ 29 billion and became the second largest investor out of 101 countries and territories directly investing in Viet Nam./.
