The charges they face include causing public disorder, intentionally causing injuries, and destroying property at the Samsung plant.

The officer said police in Pho Yen district are still investigating and will make an official report on how many people are arrested or involved in the case.

On January 9, thousands of workers at the Samsung complex rioted and clashed with security guards following an argument between a local worker and a group of security guards.

The bloody violence left 13 injured including 11 security guards and two police officers. Four of the thirteen suffered serious injuries.

According to witnesses, at around 7 am, a local worker was not allowed to enter the construction site because he was late for work. When the worker attempted to enter the site despite their refusal, security guards hit him with an electro guard hand baton, causing him to fall unconscious.

Bloody violence erupted as relatives of the attacked worker and other enraged workers clashed with the guards. Three containers and more than 20 motorbikes were burned during the clashes.

Video footage shows thousands of workers rioting, some of whom even threw rocks at shielded police officers who were deployed to the scene to restore order.

The violence became under control as more policemen arrived at the scene.
