Vietnam joins international tourism exhibition in Russia

The Vietnamese pavilion covers 80m2 and is located at the centre of the fair, attracting the interest of numerous visitors, businessmen, and travellers from Russia and other countries.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh, MITT 2018 is a prestigious tourism fair. It provides a good opportunity for Vietnam to promote the image of the country and its people as well as to develop tourism and attract more international visitors to Vietnam.

At the event, the Vietnamese delegation promoted the “Vietnam – Timeless charm” slogan and announced tourism products expected to draw many Russian tourists, including sea and islands tourism, medical tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) tourism, and ecotourism.

The delegation also introduced new contents of Vietnam’s tourism development strategy and sought greater cooperation between Vietnamese businesses and travel firms, along with news agencies of Russia and other countries.

The VNAT sees Russia as a key market for potential tourists. Vietnam is viewed as a safe and friendly destination with sandy beaches, sunny weather, and high-end resorts, with a rich culture and diverse gastronomy that can attract Russian visitors. Vietnam aims to welcome one million Russian tourists by 2020.

The VNAT said it aims to serve between 15 and 17 million foreigners and 78 million domestic travellers this year, with the total revenue expected to hit VND620 trillion (US$27.28 billion), up 21.35 % year on year.
