A New Year writing ceremony was held on February 26 morning at the temple of Teacher Chu Van An in Van An ward (Chi Linh provincial town, Hai Duong province).

The New Year writing ceremony solemnly took place with the ritual of delivering a speech to review Eternal Master Chu Van An’s services rendered to the country’s educational cause. Two senior calligraphers wrote four Chinese characters of Tri (Wisdom), Nhan (Humanity), Duc (Virtue), and Tai (Talent). Then, delegates wrote nine words in national language, namely Trung (Loyalty), Hieu (Filialness), Thuan (Dutifulness), Phu (Wealth), Quy (Nobility), Vinh (Glory), Khang (Good Health), Ninh (Peaceful Soul), and Tho (Longevity).

After the ceremony, the characters and words were respectfully offered to the central chamber by a team of male sacrificers in the boisterous sound of drums and gongs. This was a deeply humanitarian act expressing the studious tradition of Vietnamese generations and gratitude to ancestors.

At the New Year writing ceremony, the Learning Encouragement Societies of Chi Linh provincial town and Thanh Tri district glorified 16 teachers winning national awards and 43 pupils in the two localities achieving high awards and scores in provincial and national contests for good pupils and the university entrance exam in 2014.


Representatives of Sao Do branch of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and Bac Hai Duong branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam handed over VND100 million and VND50 million to the Learning Encouragement Society of Chi Linh provincial town, respectively.
