Nhan Dan Online – Hundreds of youth, students and local residents in Ha Nam province on April 24 attended the opening ceremony of an exhibition recounting the Dien Bien Phu victory and General Vo Nguyen Giap.


Hundreds of photos, artifacts and documents provide visitors with insight into the Vietnamese people’s resistance war against the French as well as the history of the glorious Dien Bien Phu victory.


The exhibits also honour the iconic General Vo Nguyen Giap, whose name is strongly associated with the Dien Bien Phu victory.


The display runs through May 24.


Another exhibition showcasing artwork inspired by General Giap opens at the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi on April 27.


The works on display include articles by journalists Tran Hong and Nguyen Dinh Toan; paintings by Mai Duy Ninh, Dang Xuan Hung and Nguyen Van Tuan; and propaganda posters by Ha Huy Le.


Visitors will also have a chance to speak with historians, culture and arts experts, military officials and war veterans who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
