A traditional ritual to welcome the new rice season of the M’nong Gar ethnic group was reproduced by locals in Dak Phoi commune, Lak district, during which villagers prepared offerings to the gods to pray for bumper crops, health, and prosperity.
Visitors to the event were invited to taste ‘can’ wine (wine drunk out of a jar through pipes), enjoy gong performances, and partake in mass dances.
An elephant fest kicked off in the border commune of Krong Na, Buon Don district on the same day, attracting great interest from visitors at home and abroad.
During the fest, the participating elephants joined a race, a football match, a parade, a tug-of-war competition and a ceremony to pray for their good health.
Meanwhile in Buon Ma Thuot city, a competition on smart coffee cultivation opened with the participation of eight teams grouping of coffee growers, producers and processors from Central Highlands region as well as those from Son La, Quang Tri and Binh Phuoc provinces.
The competition aimed to create a venue for participants to exchange knowledge and experience in coffee cultivation as well as the current policies on the fields.
One first, one second and two third prizes were presented to the best teams at the event.
