(VEN) - Tourism is one of the five key economic sectors that Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province (BR-VT) is focusing on in its growth strategy. For the tourism industry to develop in an increasingly professional manner, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Department of Tourism has signed a cooperation agreement with the VNPT group to promote its image and tourism sector to domestic and international visitors through telecommunications and information technology services.

Specifically, VNPT will consult and cooperate with the BR-VT Department of Tourism to develop and implement a master plan to apply information technology towards fostering the Industry 4.0 technology revolution in the tourism industry.
According to this agreement, the two sides will coordinate to build: a Smart Tourism Portal, a Smart Resort model and smart tourism destinations
They will also develop technology solutions, telecommunications services, centralized database systems, information gathering, information and telecommunication services, SMS based location services and free public Wi-Fi for tourists at famous destinations in the province.
The two sides will also work to improve the effectiveness of propaganda, advertising, promotion of electronic tourism (E-Marketing), tourism software applications, digital maps, and smart advertising for tourists traveling to BR-VT.
The application of information technology (IT) in the tourism industry is an indispensable requirement in the process of integration and development. IT will help increase utility for visitors and managers as well as enhance the competitiveness of businesses. The contribution of IT industry to the tourism sector will become increasingly significant and decisive, leading BR-VT tourism to a position in the future, as it implements its plan to develop high-quality tourism in the 2017-2020 period, with orientation to 2030.

BR-VT is a large tourism center in the country. With its favorable geographical position and beautiful beaches, the province has been the first choice holiday destination for many domestic and foreign tourists.
The tourism industry has maintained a good growth rate over the last few years and contributed positively to the overall growth of the province. The number of tourists to Ba Ria-Vung Tau has on average increased by 12.9% a year, and total tourism revenue has increased by an average of 15.9% a year.
Perfect natural conditions and rich networks of revolutionary historical and cultural monuments, and famous landscapes are resources that the province is developing.
BR-VT abounds in coastal specialties. It has beautiful beaches, flat sands, clear and clean water all year around.
These include: Truoc Beach, Sau Beach, Dau Beach, Dua Beach (Vung Tau), Long Hai Beach (Long Dat), Ho Coc Beach, Ho Tram Beach (Xuyen Moc), and several beaches on Con Dao Island.
The Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu primeval forests covering 11,293 hectares, the Binh Chau Hot Spring and the Con Dao National Park, which covers 6,043 hectares, with rich flora and fauna, are all related to beaches.
