Works on diplay are UuDam Tran’s videos and installations about the speedy development of Vietnam and perhaps the world. As a motorcycle aficionado, it always gives UuDam great inspiration to see the scene of thousands of motorcycle riders in on their bikes, dress in full colorful gears, waiting for the signal each morning and speed away when the light turns green.
Hanoi-“SLAMthơ – Poetic Labyrinth”
“SLAMthơ” gives a unique experience of discovering original poems written by Vietnamese francophone students during the first poetry slam ever in Vietnam. The centerpiece of the exhibition, a labyrinth, takes visitors to explore its mazes, similar to a poet wandering in their words, searching for meaning and sensations.

Featuring Vietnamese and Korean contemporary art.
Introducing a diverse body of artworks by 8 artists, from 30-40 years old, who are currently very active in the domestic and international art scenes – Ki Seulki, Heaven Beak, Lee Woosung, Jo Hyejin, UuDam Tran Nguyen, Phi Phi Oanh, Bui Cong Khanh, Lai Dieu Ha.
Showcasing artwork from various practices, such as painting, photography, installation, images with a ‘Boundary’ theme, which represent diverse perspectives of artists from both countries. Each piece contains thoughts of artists coming from the same era about boundaries between traditional and modern, ideal and reality, individual and society, and at the same time conveys stories about changes and phenomena happening in Vietnam and South Korea.
Hanoi-Exhibition “Fairy” by Artist Do Hiep

The ten circular paintings displayed in “Fairy” represent Hiep’s first experiments with rice paper (Do paper), asian lacquer, pearl shell and acrylic on wood. The artist is enamoured with pieces of glittering pearl shell pieces, profound drops of Asian lacquer, ancient flowers and floating clouds on rice paper.
Do Hiep was born in 1984 and gained an MA degree from the Vietamese Fine Arts University in 2012. He has participatied in many group exhibitions at home and abroad. He is the recipient of several awards from Vietnamese Fine Art Association. “Fairy” is his second solo exhibition.

Hanoi-Spring Cinema: interfilm Short Films

interfilm has established itself as one of the most important short film festivals in Europe and is recognised as the second most significant and oldest international film festival in Berlin after the Berlinale. More than 7.000 films with a maximum running time of 20 minutes are submitted each year.
After 2012, this is already the second visit of festival director Heinz Hermanns at the Goethe-Institut Vietnam. He will introduce the festival and show selected short films from last year’s program.
There will also be film workshop for film students in Hanoi (not open for public). He will show examples of international creative and successful short films and look at different categories and the aesthetic range of the genre. On top of that, he will guide the students through the production of their own short film.

Hanoi-Francophone Film Festival 2017

The 2017 Francophone Film Festival, organised by the partners of the Group of Embassies, Delegations and Francophone Institutions in Vietnam, represents the cultural diversity of La Francophonie.
The program for the 2017 edition is composed of 11 fiction films presented by the Embassies of Canada, France, Morocco, Switzerland, the Wallonia-Brussels delegation, the Vietnamese Department of Cinema, International organization of Francophonie.
The films are subtitled in Vietnamese, with the exception of Vietnamese films which are subtitled in French.
