Quang Ninh given nod to establish tourism police force

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the policy of establishing a special tourism police force in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The conclusion of the government leader has been released by the Government Office.

Accordingly, he asked the locality, the Ministry of Public Security and other government agencies to research and set up the pilot scheme and report to him for consideration.

The move aims to protect tourists from criminals, overcharging and aggressive street vendors, said Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Head of the provincial People’s Committee.

With the potentials and existing advantages, Quang Ninh is confirming its role as a major tourism centre domestically and regionally. In recent years, the province strived to diversify products and build a safe and friendly tourism environment; leaving good impressions on travelers.

Earlier, the central coastal city of Da Nang received permission of the government leader to form a tourism police force./.
