Rendezvous on 100-year-old Mong bridge of Saigon

VietNamNet Bridge – Watching the sunset on Bach Dang Wharf, taking photos or simply chatting with friends on Mong Bridge are pleasant experiences for visitors as well as residents.

Mong Bridge, located in the city center, crosses Tau Hu – Ben Nghe Channel, connecting District 1 and District 4. Built in the late 19th century, Mong is one of the oldest bridges in Saigon.

Mong Bridge is called the “green bridge” by many young people.

It marks many beautiful memories in the hearts of people who live and love the city. Standing on the bridge, you can see a corner Saigon which is changing with new skyscrapers. You can also see the immense space near Bach Dang Wharf.

Coming here on the weekend, visitors can enjoy the bustling space while taking part in amusing conversations or listening to the sound of a guitar or the call of street vendors. You can also sit along Tau Hu canal to see the bridge from a different perspective.

The bridge is not only a dating place for couples, but also a gathering place of close friends to chat and share their emotions. You will forget your everyday worries when taking a stroll on the bridge in a windy afternoon. Mong Bridge is also a familiar address to many photographers and brides and grooms.

From Mong Bridge, visitors can walk to Nha Rong Wharf, or the third highest building of Vietnam, Bitexco, with restaurants, entertainment, and shopping.

On any afternoon, standing on the bridge you will see the Tau Hu canal which pours into the Saigon River estuary under glittering golden light. This is also an appropriate time to walk or watch the city in sunset.
