Vietnam expects to welcome 400,000 Russian tourists in 2016
The Hanoitimes – The Vietnam Society of Travel Agents, the Southeast Asia representative office of Russian Tourism Agency and Aeroflot Airlines held a recent press conference in Hanoi to introduce some of Russia’s famous attractions in winter.
The Russian Centre of Science and Culture joined hands with the Southeast Asia representative office of Russian Tourism Agency, the Vietnam Society of Travel Agents and Aeroflot Airlines to launch the “Russia in Winter and World Cup 2018” programme in Hanoi on October 21.

During the conference, the Southeast Asia representative office of Russian Tourism Agency introduced some of Russia’s famous attractions in winter such as Republic of Tatarstan and its capital Kazan, the Republic of Karelia, northernmost Murmansk and Sochi city.
Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vasilevic Vnukov said the travel programme makes an opportunity for Vietnamese travellers to explore the cities and regions of Russia.
Particularly, the unique travel tours in winter are expected to draw a large number of visitors to Russia in 2018, the diplomat said.
Vice President of Vietnam Society of Travel Agents Phung Quang Thang noted that Vietnam and Russia are partners in various fields, including tourism.

Through the programme, Vietnamese travel agencies could know more of Russia’s attractions and services, thus offering more travel destinations for Vietnamese as well as opportunities for cooperation with Russian businesses.
In the first 9 months of this year, the country welcomed about 300,000 Russian tourists, and 400,000 Russian visitors are expected to choose Vietnam as the destination.
Vietnam’s travel agencies have also brought 100,000 domestic tourists to visit Russia. Such programme introducing Russian destinations will create favourable conditions for enterprises of the two countries to draw more visitors.
