HCMC – Saigon Railway Company and the tourism associations of HCMC, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen have clinched a deal to open railway tours from HCMC to the four south-central provinces.

Customers can start booking railway tours this month with better service quality and prices guaranteed. Such tours will depart from HCMC and take in tourist destinations in Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen and Binh Dinh.

In the future more provinces will be added. Nguyen Thi Khanh, vice chairwoman of the HCMC Tourism Association, said more will remain to be done to make railway tourism attractive to visitors but in the coming time, wherever railways are available, tourism companies will arrange tours there.

Saigon Railway Company deputy general director Dinh Van Sang said his firm is mulling discounting fares, improving services and adding more cars and that travel firms that book train seats two to three months before departure time could get tickets that are 20% lower than normal prices.

Sang said preparations could be completed within this month.

Nguyen The Vinh, deputy general director of Saigontourist Travel Service Company, said his business has prepared tour programs for new routes and is waiting for a train ticket price schedule, particularly for open trips where passengers can select dates of departure and return. Joining those tours, travelers can choose go by both rail and air.
