The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) had submitted to the Ministry of Transport appraisal results on granting aviation transport business licence for the Vietstar One Member Limited Liability Company (Vietstar).

The Ministry of Transport will report to the Prime Minister about granting a business license for the airline.
If it gets a permit, Vietstar will become the fifth airline in the country, including Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Vietnam Air Services Company and VietJet Air, and offer the first flight in 2017 with a fleet of 5 passenger aircrafts and 2 freighters.
It expects to transport 500,000 passengers and 32,000 tons of goods in the first year of its operation.
Vietstar was established in 2010. Headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, with an operational base at Tan Son Nhat international airport, the company provides passenger and cargo charter, pilot training, aircraft maintenance, and aviation fuel supply.
