Hotel room prices in Da Lat increase by 300 percent for holidays

Because the public employees and laborers have four day holidays for Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day the number of travelers flocking highland city of Da Lat is predicted to increase sharply.

Large number of small-luxury hotels has increased their room prices to 300 percent.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province said that room capacity at hotels could receive over 40,000 guests at night.

Currently, all rooms of 1- 5 star hotels have been fully booked since the beginning of April although room prices have been increased to VND 600, 000- 800, 000 or VND 1,2- 1, 5 million for a room.

The inspection teams and hotline were established to keep track of security and food service price at local hotels during four day holidays, said the department.
