On March 23rd, an exchange about President Ho Chi Minh and sports took place at Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi to mark 70 years of the sports sector (March 27th) and 25 years of Vietnam Sports Day.

When President Ho Chi Minh was alive, he always hoped that every one would be healthy to build a happy and comfortable life. He also took special care for the development of national sports.

The exchange aimed to promote the campaign on training the body according to Uncle Ho’s example launched by the sports sector, and the campaign on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s example in ethics.

At the exchange, several managers and excellent athletes who had the honor to meet Uncle Ho shared stories about him.

Athlete Vu Thi Sen, who won a gold medal in swimming and set an Asian record in 1996 at GANEFO in Cambodia, recounted the moment she met Uncle Ho nearly 50 years ago.

Nguyen Manh Hung contributed to seize the bronze medal for the Vietnamese volleyball delegation at GANEFO in 1966. He participated in the delegation to make a report to Uncle Ho at the Presidential Palace on December 19th, 1966.

Through the memories, thinking and emotion of athletes, trainers and managers, people had an opportunity to understand more about President Ho Chi Minh’s care for national sports, as well as the awareness of the necessity of practising exercise and training health to study and work well, contributing to national building and development./.
