Vietnam promotes tourism in Hong Kong

The Vietnam Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines held a seminar on December 14 in Hong Kong (China) to promote Vietnam’s tourism industry in the territory.

The event drew the participation of representatives from 35 local businesses operating in the field, including Hong Thai Travel, Wing On Travel and Zuji.com.

According to Deputy Director of VNAT Ha Van Sieu, Hong Kong is one of the biggest transit destinations and tourism centres in the region.

In recent years, Vietnam has seen an increasing number of foreign tourists, including not only those from Hong Kong, but also from other countries traveling to Vietnam via the territory, he added.

In the first nine months of this year, international airlines served more than 7 million passengers between Hong Kong and Vietnam.

The VNAT leader also introduced a number of policies to attract tourists, including regulations on visa exemptions aimed at making it easier for foreign tourists to visit the country.

Representatives from Vietnam Airlines spoke of the airline’s fleet and flight routes, as well as its services and promotions for customers from Hong Kong to Vietnam.

A number of Vietnam’s top tourist destinations and products were also presented at the event.
