PANO – A ceremony to open the 19th Vietnam Film Festival, themed “Vietnam Cinematography – Nationalism, Humanity, Creativity and Integration,” was held on November 1st at the Hoa Binh Theatre.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) and the Ho Chi Minh Municipal People’s Committee, and more than 500 producers, directors and film makers attended the event.
The opening ceremony of the festival was a general art program, presenting the diversification and characteristics of the Vietnamese revolutionary cinematography in particular, and the country’s culture in general.
The organizing board has selected 125 eligible entries from 41 groups of movie companies nationwide to compete in the categories of drama, scientific documentary and animation.
The closing ceremony and awards gala will be organized at 8.pm on December 5th.
