The railways industry officially started the online rail ticket selling system the first day on September 1, when many visitors to websites www.dsvn.vn and vietnamrailway.vn saw announcement ‘the system is under periodic maintenance, please return later.’
Many of those accessing www.vetau.com.vn were also unable to get information about journeys and stations of departure and arrival.
Passengers accessing these websites on smart phones, iPad or computers with chrome or internet explorer browsers also met with many difficulties.
Online ticket purchase at Saigon Railways Station was easier and quicker with guidance by many station staff.
Saigon Railway Passenger Transport Company said that many customers had been unfamiliar with the online selling system on the first day while some forgot bringing identity papers resulting in the breakdown.
In addition, there were too many people accessing the websites at the same time causing network congestion and slowdowns in the morning. However the issue was remedied at noon.
